By: Md. Obaidullah Qasmi, Delhi

A special meeting was held after Maghrib in the Jamiat library meeting room yesterday i.e. on 6th October, 2019 for over 3 hours for seeking feedback, suggestions and remarks after the MMERC's silver jubilee events were over, and the meeting was attended by many seniors and most active members including Janab Mohammad Umar Gautam sb, the former director of MMERC, Janab Maulana Burhanuddin Qasmi sb, the director of MMERC, Maulana Atiqur Rahman Qasmi, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Qasmi, Maulana Sadaqat Qasmi, Qarif Iftikhar Ahmad Qasmi, Maulana Mohamad Afzal Qasmi, Maulana Owais Qasmi, Maulana Reyaz Ahmad Qasmi, Maulana Manzar Imam Qasmi, Mufti Muhammadullah Qasmi, Maulana Muddassir Qasmi, Maulana Tauqeer Ahmad Qasmi, Maulana Shams Tabrez Qasmi, Dr. Abdul Malik Qasmi etc. In the meeting, many members gave their feedback and suggestions orally and they were asked to give the same in the written form later.

My written feedback is as follows:

Feedback for appreciation

1. I am pleased to give this feedback that this event was a grand success, alhamdulillah. 2.

It brought MMERC's alumni and the alumni of similar and affiliated centres together from across the world allowing them to see and know each other, communicate, give their suggestions and share their feelings after MMERC's completion of 25 long years.

3. This silver jubilee has sent a very positive and constructive message to the whole ulama and madrasa community of the country.

4. The jubilee celebrations have successfully displayed MMERC' success story for others to follow and be effective islamic scholars and preachers in the context of the present world scenario.

5. This silver jubilee will hopefully be remembered for many decades for good reasons.

Feedback for corrections

In spite of the grand success of MMERC's silver jubilee celebrations, the following components of my feedback require our attention to make corrections in our events in the future:

1. I agreed to the feedback of Maulana Afzal sb and many about non-performance of Namaaz or Prayers with Jama'at regularly during the sessions including the valedictory one. In the next MMERC events, Namaz needs to be given due importance and announcements should be made for holding Namaz with Jamaat. Some guests expressed their sadness about it.

2. I also agreed to his remark that, sadly, excessive time was spent on the event's rituals such as the distributing of medals, awards and ribbons. This needs to minimised in the next events of MMERC as they leave no sufficient time for the invited guests to give their suggestions and observations. In the valedictory session, Hazrat Mohtamim sb and Hazrat Maulana Badruddin Ajmal sb had very less time to speak. In addition, other guests on the stage couldn't get time to say even a single word.

3. It was felt that MMERC's representation in the valedictory session was not as as much as it was required.

4. Some more participants from MMERC should have been added in the valedictory session.

5. Volunteer teams should have been formed properly in such a manner that they couldn't face health problems due to work stress.

6. MMERC should avoid imitating others' civilization and etiquette in its events.

7. In its events, MMERC should strictly provide sitting arrangement on the carpeted ground or on chairs for all the guests for eating food, and avoid using standing arrangement. Going against Sunnah especially by an Ulama body like MMERC may highly be objectionable. In the future, it should be avoided.

8. A paper name plate should be put before each guest sitting on the stage to provide a brief introduction for the audience.

9. Tea and brief snacks should be arranged for the stage guests from the beginning of the event. In the valedictory session, snacks were served very late.

10. Short breaks between sessions must be given for retaining the interest of the audience.
