Rajive Dhavan will represent Babri Case review petition in SC: AIMPB

New Delhi, December 3, 2019: Senior advocate Rajeev Dhavan, who represented the Muslim parties in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janambhoomi title dispute in the Supreme Court, will again represent the review petition in the SC, says All India Muslims Personal Law Board General Secretary Maulana Wali Rahmani.

In an announcement on Facebook early Tuesday morning, Rajeev Dhavan said, “Just been sacked from the Babri case by advocate-on-record Ejaz Maqbool, who was representing the Jamiat. Have sent formal letter accepting the sacking without demur. No longer involved in the review of the case.”

On the other hand the Muslims Personal Law Board released a press note in which it acknowledged the assistance rendered by Dr Rajeev Dhavan, senior counsel, who vehemently led the arguments in the case for the Muslims side and offered his best for justice and truth. The Board said that 'Rajive Dhavan’s services in the case of Babri Masjid are remarkable and he is a man of great stature and courage.'

The General Secretary of AIMPLB, Maulana Wali Rahmani said in a press statement "The contribution of Dr. Rajiv Dhavan senior advocate, Suprem Court of India in Babri Masjid / Ramjanam Bhumi title suite in SC is excellent and praiseworthy. He was abused by a small section of the people and a filthy campaign was carried out in social media but nothing could deter him from arguing the case. The statement also reads that a team of senior advocates is busy in drafting the review petitions which will be then settled by Advocate Dr. Dhavan himslef before 9 DecembeThe statement reads that Dr Dhavan will lead the case once again and a team of senior advocates is working on it under the guaidance of Dr Dhavan himself.
