Qur'anic Dua - 22 (English)

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا

Translation: 

“Our Lord! Grant  us mercy from Yourself, and give us guidance for us in our affair.”

Explanation:

This dua is mentioned in Surah Kahaf, Ayah No. 10.

This is the supplication of people of the Cave, Ashab-e Kahaf. There were some young men at the time of a polytheist king. The king tortured them due to believing in Oneness of God, Tauheed, so they left the city and hid themselves in a cave. Allah Almighty put such slumber over them that they kept sleeping till 309 years in the same cave. Allah Almighty by his power kept them alive and saved their bodies from spoiling and decomposing during this long period of time.  Their story in available in detail in Surah Kahaf of the Quran. They prayed to Allah with this supplication when they were taking refuge in the cave.
