Mumbai, January 12, 2020: A massive rally, in which thousands of people once again gathered to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC), was held near Lokhandwala Back Road, Andheri (W), from Millat Nagar to Yamuna Nagar junction on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm and was organized by the activists ‘Hum Bharat Ke Log’.

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of the city against the CAA converging at the millat nagar. The gathering included workers of political parties, students and a smattering of Bollywood personalities, who made out a strong voice against the CAA and NRC.

This ‘massive’ rally drew thousands of people, especially Muslims, from across the city, who turned up in large numbers. The rally was held from Millat Nagar to Yamuna Nagar junction, where many activists including bollywood actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, renowned activist Firoz Meethiborewala and many others addressed the people.

The scene was similar to the ‘mega rally’ which was held earlier the last month in August Kranti Maidan, wherein thousands of people had come from across the city to protest against the CAA and NRC.

Protesters say the CAA is communal and discriminates against the followers of Islam.

The people were seen marching towards the site carrying placards, banners and handbills in their hands.

Some of the placards read "Hindu-Muslim ek hain, Modi Shah fake hain, "Sab taj uchhale jayenge, sab takht giraye jayenge", "Kisi ke baap ka Hindustan thodi hain" and "Stop dividing India".
