Qur'anic Dua - 15 (English)
رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ
Translation:
Our Lord! Pour upon us patience and cause us to die as Muslims.
Explaination:
This dua is mentioned in Surah Aaraf, Ayah No. 126. This is the dua of magicians who gathered in Egypt by the order of the Egyptian King Pharaoh to compete prophet Moosa (as), but when the stick of prophet Mosa (as) gulped down all what they showed by magical tricks then they began to believe in him and fell down in prostration saying “We now believe in the Lord of the entire world and Lord of Mosa and Haroon.” To see this situation, the Pharaoh got furious and threatened them to chop their hands and legs and crucify them. At that moment, the magicians responded, “Surely to our Lord we will all return. Your rage towards us is only because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us.” And then they sought help from Allah with the above supplication.
One should seek Allah’s help through the above dua in dangerous situation and when life or wealth is in risk.
